By the way.. I call them being up tomorrow. They'll post a loss but it won't be as significant as expected.
Investors main concern will be on how Goldman incorporate their investment banking arm and commercial banking arm (last rumor was they are targeting a regional bank).
Are they able to transform into a bank like JPMorgan Chase or another ineffective bank like Citibank (fail to close the Wachovia deal).
Maybe Warren Buffet should influence Goldman Sachs and Wells Fargo to merge together.
This would be impossible. GS + Wachovia + Wells Fargo = >10% market share, which is illegal unless new legislation went into effect changing that rule. Plus the lack of prestige you've insinuated isn't something that I can imagine GS would be interested in.
The Street was relieved with the results. MS is up next; any predictions? Above or below consensus?

Stock was up even with the loss, but they got ?lucky? when Fed essentially announced that the economy is in way more trouble than anyone expected. Lets look for some weakness tomorrow..

so your GS posted lower than expected earnings. and the fed cut rate because it feels that economy sucks. so why do all the stocks go up?? i am waiting for dow to go 8k so i could invest. and it pains me every time that it goes up.
