I think overall this shows that our congressmen know nothing about economics. Paulson tells him the financial system will collapse, and the dude only makes 7k? GE essentially tells him the stock will fall, and he only makes a few k? This scares me more than the trading itself.

Reality hits you hard, bro...

lol not sure if troll...

Congressman makes $150m on insider trading. Definitely doesnt hit news. Definitely doesn't get picked up. Smart "insider traders" don't make it huge on individual bets.

These are the 2 trades that were found. What's the probably that they found all of them?

That was actually my initial thought, lol. I don't know, maybe he isn't very liquid so he couldn't come up with anymore cash or maybe he was trying to go unnoticed.

I mean, $7k is still $7k and I can't stand the corruption, but lets at least focus on the people who have habitually raped the system. Pelosi's net worth has risen dramatically over the last few years and it irks me to no end to hear the woman talk about rich people with their yachts and jets. Honestly, what qualifies as 'rich' in her book...is it not having a net worth in the neighborhood of $60mm??

1: Congress is allowed to trade on insider info? 2: Yea, and only half of them are millionaires 1: Losers

Edmundo BravermanFuckwits and pikers, every single one of them. I really hope the young people in this country (you guys) do something about these fuckin' losers. My generation has proven unwilling and incapable.

Our parents and grandparents will attempt to brainwash us into paying for their 35 year retirements, and since 50% of the populace has less than a 6th grade reading level, I wouldn't count on any change in the status quo. People don't take well to having their benefits cut, and whether we want to believe it or not, we are all the panhandlers waiting outside the urban planning and benefits office in one way or another. From the bankers to the farmers and the students who think they will be rockstars, our parents sucked the tits of government subsidies and cheap fed interest rates since the GI Bill, and there is no easy way out. Good morning Tokyo.

Lol yeah, and as long as they continue to convince us that somehow voting one way or another will change this we keep missing the fact that they're on the same side: their side.

I take heart in the fact that so much youthful rebellion is channelled into politics. Yeah these kids don't know what the're talking about, but they're doing something, and it's just a matter of time until they figure the system out.

Get busy living

Do you guys really think that any of these people (congressmen and women) are actually, actively trading for themselves? I find that difficult to believe and its not like any of these trades are crazy out there and not indicative of more macro movements. Buying stock in health insurers before the public option failed? Everyone knew that would happen, makes sense. Buying VISA stock at IPO price? What are the chances that it would actually decline in value from the initial offer? Come on.
