[Feedback] Creating a website for coffee chats?

Just curious to see whether or not y'all would use a website where you can easily set up a meeting between a person in your specific industry at the click of a button? I find myself going through 100+ people's linkedin and sending message and am wondering is creating a website that would help people make it easier?

what incentive would people have to register on the website rather than just sticking to traditional contact? how would it differ to say Zoom/Teams/skype/ internal communication systems ? also often times some people aren't particularly looking to be contacted in the first place, but are simply swayed into it by an interesting candidate etc, is there really a demand for this?

I think if your website answers all these its worth launching

Probably not useful as a self service site but maybe as a managed service it could function like being a head hunter at the undergrad level. There’s should be some mediation between profeessional and job seeker, since the worst thing is getting spammed by 100s of candidates with the same email / ask template. If you were to pursue this, I’d set it up more a like a HH service for investment banks, but maybe you charge candidates some sort of fee for streamlined access to a firm if they’re a good match or something

Based on the most helpful WSO content, I can tell you that networking is a crucial part of landing a job in many industries, including finance. A website that simplifies the process of setting up coffee chats could be a valuable tool. However, it's important to remember that the quality of these interactions often matters more than the quantity.

In the world of finance, personal connections and genuine relationships can make a big difference. That's why it's often recommended to approach these chats with the goal of making a new friend, rather than just trying to sell yourself or push your resume.

So, while a website could potentially make it easier to set up these meetings, it's still up to you to make the most of them. Remember, no one wants to be "pitched" but everyone wants to do business with their friends.

And hey, if you do decide to create this website, make sure to keep it user-friendly and efficient. After all, we're all about making things easier, right?
