Fight Club Changed My Life. Goodbye.

This is officially my last post.

I saw this film the other day for the first time and it honestly changed my life. I couldn't believe how I had never watched it before. The messaging was so transformative and has completely changed my perspective on life.

For so long I've felt regret about not doing better and also fear for potentially not being able to achieve the prestigious positions that I felt would give me validation. I hated myself for not doing well enough and constantly complained about my grades.

I genuinely feel so different for the first time in like 6 years. I don't have that shitty feeling inside me anymore about not having gone to Cambridge or being in an elite prestigious role right after graduation.

It's just so crazy to think about and sounds so stupid but I just feel so different. Like a completely changed person after seeing the film and realising that I've been torturing myself for a completely stupid reason.

What stood out to me the most was the following :

"You’re not your job. You’re not how much money you have in the bank. You’re not the car you drive. You’re not the contents of your wallet. You’re not your fucking khakis. You’re the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world."

Thanks for all the advice on here.

You met me at a very strange time in my life.

Goodbye.

I've seen Fight Club probably 30 - 50 times. Top 20 movie for me.
