GF has been extremely annoying since landing an offer
Before you all shit on me, I have an offer too so this is not jealousy.
My girlfriend fell into high finance recruiting at the beginning of her sophomore year due to her diversity status and she recently secured an offer at a solid bank. I'm happy for her, but she's constantly trying to impress her friends and family by talking about finance with me in front of them and using terms that she thinks are "advanced" but aren't (AUM.) I know I sound pretentious by insulting her intelligence, but I genuinely cringe when she talks like this and I can't handle the way her ego operates now that she got this offer.
I love her so breaking up isn't an option, how do I kindly hint to her that she's obnoxious to everyone around her when she acts like this?
It is obvious to be excited for a week or two.
But if it borderlines on obnoxious, you just say it honestly. If you can’t be honest with your partner, then you have bigger problems.
tbh something like that will probs go away over time. After she starts working 80 hour weeks the so call appeal goes away along with draining the life force out of you. So probs go away after a few months of employment.
Besides that wait option you maybe just try to have a conversation with her (SHOCKER I KNOW). If you're dating there isn't a reason why you shouldn't be able to have a mature conversation about her ego being too big. I wouldn't recommend saying she uses advanced terms like AUM that are for kindergarteners to her face though. Just try to bring it up from an general ego perspective not a specific circumstantial perspective. Try to articulate your thoughts in a nice a way as possible too.
