Holiday vacation

I’m trying to book a vacation for year-end - around Christmas/New Years - or maybe early January.

I’m in my mid-20s working in Houston, and most of the guys I know are doing something with their SO or just hanging with the family with their time off (I’ll never understand the South)

Any ideas for solo travel? What are y’all doing with any unused vacation days (assuming you’re in a position to take time off)?

For reference, I partied around western Europe last year (Amsterdam, Paris, Rome, and Madrid) and am hitting Japan and SE Asia next month while catching a few matches of the Rugby World Cup

Instanbul, Turkey. I have been there multiple times and the kindness of the people and generosity is incredible. Yeni raki to drink, people are so nice, they will show you around town and invite you dinner. The culture is incredible.

In part of Asia, I like the Philippines they have a good beach super amazing view, food, and kind people. But when it comes to place Korea and Japan I like the place.

solo travel + new years? if you like sports, I'd go ahead and book a trip to LA, NoLA, or Miami, all have bowl games around New Years and all would be GREAT cities to spend NYE in. if I was single and I wanted to party, that's what I'd do.

other ideas: hike south america (it's their summer), surf/dive/fishing trip somewhere warm like costa rica, belize, honduras, barbados, ski trip (since you're in Houston, no real winter I'm guessing), mexico city, buenos aires, etc. plenty of options, have fun

best part is all i'm paying for is half of a flight back to New York.

Eh skiing is ok. Aspen is one of my favorite places in the world tbh. It's so isolated and I'm a big fan of Colorado. There's no better place to go (in the US at least) after living in New York than to escape to the rockies for a few weeks.

SE Asia is great around New Years because the weather is perfect and people get after it. I went to a NYE party on Patong Beach in Thailand in 2012, Steve Aoki was DJ'ing while a thousand red paper lanterns launched from the beach and floated off over the ocean.

Be excellent to each other, and party on, dudes.

I don't know... Yeah. Almost definitely yes.
