How important is height when trying to get a job in high finance?
How important is height when recruiting for high finance?
I bet the only reason why I can't land anything prestigious is because I'm 5'7.
Should I get leg lengthening surgery to become 6'+, hopefully, and improve my chances of getting a front office banking job?
serious responses only guys. this is my life we're talking about here
The idea of this post is decent, but the execution could be better. It's too obvious that you're joking about the surgery. To get a SB from me, I need to see excellence in your posts.
I know you're capable of being great. Dont let us down next post.
i reveal the unfortunate truth about my situation - and you discard it as a simple joke. this is much more than A JOKE. this is the struggle i live with each and every day, as it is IMPOSSIBLE to make a good first impression as a MANLET. You think that i am joking, but this post couldn't be further from the truth
More important to attend a high ivy for high finance
what is a high ivy? you either at an ivy or your not lol
I was joking. In the same vein that it's considered douchey to use the expression "high finance" it's considered douchey to use the expression "high Ivy" to denote H/Y/P v the other Ivies
Go for the leg extension surgery cause you're pretty much fucked need to be at least 6'9" to get a FO job
Are those two separate measurements? The six feet and 9 inches?
yes and no at the same time
I've actually seen an article, could have been efinancial or Bloomberg, I can't remember exactly where and it said something about taller people being more likely to get promoted over their "shorter" peers at an investment bank. I mean I wish it wasn't true... If you look any investment bank and look inside the MD's office, they're at least 5'10 -- from my own personal experience. I'm short, probably shorter than average and it does bother me time to time and I feel like people don't take my seriously, especially the women in the industry. But it's something I can't control, no matter what, so I try to use my knowledge and professionalism to make up for that gap... There is this thing called corporate jargon, google it. It's bullshit speaking done by the executive level that I've been trying to master. At the end of day, investment bank is all politics. If you can play the game, you're good. Silly as it sounds, yes its true. FYI - Don't get an extension surgery, it's extremely painful and you may not even fully recover to enjoy outdoor activities.
Lloyd was 5 foot being generous on his tippy toes and he was the biggest boss ever.
Your logic is flawed bro.
There are adult male movie stars that get paid to fornicate with hot women who are like 5"7 and 140 lbs lmao
WallStreetOasis.com height data should be added to the company database hahaha
5’0 - 5’7 non target
5’8 - 6’0 semi target 6’1 - 6’6 target 6’7+ NBA
If you can’t dunk without jumping you’ll never get into Fyyyyy-nance
I know this is a troll post but it actually is a legitimate thing many people worry about. I've worried about it in the past as well as a good amount of others I've spoken to as well. It really isn't all that relevant but the thoughts are pervasive.
Trust me - I'm worried big time buddy
I think that your height is just fine. What you really need is confidence and attitude! great people don't need height! Talent is everything. Maybe, I can't imagine what you are facing right now but I just want to tell that you matter whether you are heightened or not.
Your confidence is more important than height, with that being said if you are insecure about that it you need to do the following: Get swole/fit, style, and have really good hair. This will also help with other areas in life (dating, etc.) as well.
haha good one
Lifting weights is probably the best thing someone whos "short" can do (I mean for everyone obv). I swear any kind of muscle that's packed on looks 5x larger than on someone taller.
Know that I speak from experience. I'm reasonably average when its come to height (>6 ft) but the muscle has definitely helped with ....every aspect of life.
They wouldn't call it "high finance" if people were short. Just saying.
beat me to it
If you're desperate buy these for your interview
