How often do you get up and walk around the office? Time spent away from the computer?

For those that are working/interning only. Just want to know for reference...

Job/Position: Number of times you leave the seat for > 1 minute per day: Number of times you leave the office (go outside) during the workday: Amount of time spent on the telephone per day:

Kinda weird question. Remember, a "day" could be 9 hours, or it could be 20. Behavior changes a lot after 6-7 PM. But for sake of argument, let's say first year analyst, average food/coffee consumption, IBD, ballpark average for only the hours between 8:30 AM and 6:30 PM:

Leave seat for bathroom break (2-3 minutes including walking time): 4 (assuming female bathroom norms; male experience may vary). Leave seat to get food/lunch (20 minutes): 1 Leave seat to get coffee (5 minutes): 1-2 Take a break to go outside: Rarely. Unless you're a smoker, what good reason do you have to be out there? Amount of time on the phone: I'm assuming you mean work calls, because I don't know too many people who place personal calls from work. You have a smartphone, email, Facebook; use that stuff. Work phone calls: as much as necessary.

But none of this really matters for the aforementioned IBD analyst. If you do your work and are a good analyst, nobody's standing by your desk clocking your bathroom breaks.

On the other hand, you're there to work, not wander around on the floor or outside with your thumb up your ass.

Why do you ask? You worried about making work fit your lifestyle?

I worked my first 16 hour day this week.

I'm not even doing God damn Banking or anything finance related. I was supposed to go in today to finish some shit and the damn power is out so they are not letting any one in.

During the 16 hour day I got up like 6 times for about 3 mins to get food or to ask how to do something. During the 8 out days it will be like 2 times 1 bc i fked something up and I need help and 1 to get food

Lol. When I used to pull all-nighters in undergrad, I would take a "break" and beat off like every 30 mins...serious

If that's actually you in the thumbnail and you "beat off", I think I am going to throw up!
