I’ve met so many people at the bars in NYC. Great times. You usually don’t even have to do much. Just sit there for a bit and eventually you start talking to people. It just happens. NYC bars are the best. Such a wide variety of people from different industries.

Yep, this. The absolute worst-case scenario is that someone doesn’t want to talk to you. NY has eight million people, you’ll find another!

Alcohol brings out the social mentality in lots of people, myself included. Very easy to just strike up a conversation, next thing you know - you got a buddy. I’ve met some great friends by just happening to sit next to ‘em & opening my mouth.

Phebe’s is known as the intern bar. If there’s any other interns at your company should be easy to hang out w them as a starting point. I had a decent amount of college friends/acquaintances in Manhattan but still found it lonely at times, can be hard and no one has time for dinner or lunch with friends so it’s really just weekend partying.

Getting a girl will also help and if all else fails you can always try the dating apps.

I'm not 21 and the fake I have is extremely shitty (it's a fake of someone else who looks nothing like me) Are NYC bars strict? Anything else I can do that's not 21+?

Whole Foods is where they all congregate.

I go to a non target and I'm doing an SA at a buyside shop in NYC. Almost nobody from my school that I know is here. How can I meet people my age and make friends?

Do you have any hobbies, or interests, or anything about you other than your job that someone might find interesting?  If so, go participate.  Join a young member's group at a museum.  Sign up for a kickball league.  It's NYC, pretty much anything you might want to do, exists here.

If you don't have any interests other than getting drunk on the weekend or working during the week, the lack of friends is probably more tied to that, than NYC itself.
