How to deal with batshit, victim mentality people?

I have this person going around about me talking complete lies. Definetly below my level of accomplishments, but i have more to lose because I am a male and this person is a female. I can be blunt and rub people off sometimes, but I apologize and am self aware if I overstep. But recently there is this person that has been trying to ruin my life and reputation by talking extreme lies about me, saying I made some crazy comments. I know it’s bait for me to bite if I react but how do I handle this situation the best way? do i be still and know that Gods got it, or do i let all hell break lose, do i spread rumors about her, what should I do to deal with complete psychopaths that try to ruin my life.

thanks!

Hey guys, realize that might have came out as funny, but I'm dead serious. It's just a stupid idea in general to date co-workers, but if you have the bad luck of getting a girl who has a few screws loose, this then becomes a massive career liability. Even though we're getting past the extreme wokeness of the 2010s, nonetheless, you are just one false accusation away from all kinds of problems. It's just not even worth it. If you're in any kind of reasonably sized city, there are plenty of dating options. Go outside and talk to some people.

Lawyer up. Hit the gym. Block Facebook. Assuming they are an Ex. But in all seriousness you need to make sure you are protecting yourself. Document, document, document - have witnesses and any evidence that demonstrably disproves her claims and get ahead of this. You can do that by "seeking advice" from any trusted seniors in the team that you have good rapport with and this benefits you by getting in front of any negative allegations.

Generally, I recommend subtly antagonizing the ever loving shit out of them and enjoying yourself watching the crash out. Sometimes you have to make your own entertainment. Lawyers if they escalate it like this.

"If you don't have any enemies in life you have never stood up for anything" - Winston Churchill | "It's a testament to the sheer belligerence of the profession that people would rather argue about the 'risk-adjusted returns' of using inferior tooth cleaning methods." - kellycriterion

The most batship victim mentality person was my former roommate. I have removed her from my life.

"If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them." - Bruce Lee

So you're an abrasive asshole and now you're surprised that someone you were a dick to, is talking shit?

It sounds like you're the one with a "victim mentality".  This is simply the consequences of your own actions.  Maybe you'd be better served taking it as a wake up call instead of deriding this person for being less accomplished, as if that somehow invalidates their criticism
