How to Establish a Manager/Fund Pipeline?

For background, I have a family member that will be experiencing a fairly significant liquidity event soon and will then be managing a sort of internal family office with significant alts exposure. The question is how do we go about establishing a pipeline of emerging managers/funds?

I know several people working at large, legacy managers (as I used to as well, we aren't interested in any of these) but don't really have any connections or know where to start with small managers. We would be looking to invest at most mid 7 figures in managers with less than ~$300m in AUM or in first time funds with limited track records.

The only ideas I have at the moment are to get the office name out to our network and see if they know of anybody fundraising, getting an LP profile set up on Pitchbook and CapitalIQ etc, and maybe setting up a landing page on google to searchers of LPs.

 Anyone have any other ideas?
