Hurricane Isaac to rival Katrina in strength - possible investment opportunities?
So Isaac is supposed to rival Katrina in strength. Its supposed to hit New Orleans in a couple of days. What investment decisions should you be making in light of this? Shorting positions probably on things like oil companies? Going long the price of oil?
Edit: This all said, given the multiple monkey shits Ive recieved, I DO NOT FAVOR MORE HURRICANES HITTING NEW ORLEANS RATHER THAN LESS.
Long on possible supply problems.
eh isnt it a cat 2 right now? or is it strengthening
I would buy stocks of companies that manufacture firearms + ammunition. If there's any news of looting/murders etc after the hurricane, people would want to get weapons for self defense.
Not to mention, gun sales typically spike before elections, especially this year with Obama. But that's another matter...
Long Heineken?
Well... at least they can't blame Bush this time.

It is a Cat 1-2, only 30% chance at 3-4 so not near as strong as Katrina or Rita. Already some shut-in's have occured,
In any case I would say if anything look for a chance to sell on fear if you see a rally. Crude and natty are up slightly right now.
if you don't have your fake Isaac charity in place already, you're a day late and a dollar short.
