While the post seems ridiculous at first glance, there actually is a small portion of bankers to whom some parts of what OP wrote actually applies. Personally I enjoy the lifestyle a lot. I'm not into bars or hookups, but I do appreciate how my job keeps me busy and always on my toes; it forces me to prioritize my health and relationships whereas a lax 40 hr/week job might encourage me to slump into laziness/sleeping unnecessarily late/putting things off. It's all about balance IMO
Very optimistic and good view to have haha. Lots of analysts do the exact opposite, especially when it comes to prioritizing health.
this has to be due to the fact that college grads walk in thinking that they were so busy and then they get truely clocked by the real world. It happened to me too. You think you are busy, then you join banking and you realize that college was a walk in the park.

Unless your sarcasm is going over my head (quite possible), I feel the need to interject that working 70+ hours a week and not getting roughly 8 hours of sleep is quite detrimental to your health. It just doesn’t show as much yet cause we’re young.
Greatest benefit of IB is telling people you don't want to hang out with that you work in IB and are too busy to deal with their broke asses
Agree. Nowadays I am really motivated to squeeze my 5, 10km in the week, since my lifestyle is so unhealthy.
