IELTS vs TOEFL, within 2 weeks
I'm a native English speaker. My wife is not, with Mandarin as her native language. She's been admitted to a graduate program, but has to take either IELTS or TOEFL within 2 weeks.
She's ok at speaking but not as great at reading comprehension.
- How can I best help her prepare?
- What are good banks of practice tests - ideally computerized and automated?
- What's a good study plan for next 2 weeks?
- Is IELTS easier than TOEFL (as some articles online seem to indicate)?
- How difficult will it be for a casual speaker of English to reach band 6 of IELTS or computerized TOEFL of 80?
I took IELTS. It is easier than TOEFL, in the sense that questions are more straightforward.
TOEFL is very easy. I'm not a native speaker and prepared for 1 day - scored 112. Just take a look at the structure of the test(tons of youtube videos) and you're good to go.
