Late responding to ur comment by a few months but gotta say I think a small underground range for lower cal guns like the one at Tiro would be sick and honestly pretty doable with the right basement layout and safety features installed in the walls/ceiling. Might cost a few bucks but like I would absolutely do this. Maybe set up a bar with some seating next to it (obv safety first tho). Would take the basement virtual golf setups some people have to the absolute next level.

For those of you in IB, how expensive are your MDs houses?
I checked a couple. Usually $1.5m to $2.5m. Nothing too special. Think they buy them as VPs or DIR, and then they grow with them. Located mostly in Westchester or other good school districts. Some have other properties as well (e.g. house in the Hamptons, or Miami, o close to a ski resort). Some like living in the city and have an apartment there - no idea prices, but I’d imagine $2.5m at least.
Steam room and/or Japanese style bath (the shower/tub rooms in Japan are far and away the most over the top luxurious bathrooms in the world).

The Aman resorts like the one mentioned in that list are pretty hit and miss. Very inconsistent with weird things you wouldn't think you'd run into when paying that much.

What's the difference between the western kitchen and the generic kitchen? I don't mean to be rude or racist with this question (so if I come off that way, I truly apologize), I just feel like there's a pretty significant overlap between western and "generic" cooking.
I just mean a regular fit-all kitchen that I can use for everyday cooking.
Western kitchen would have more specific ingredients that are commonly used in European cuisine. Wouldnprbably have fancier equipment since I'd use it for special occasions or more fanciful cooking.
I wouldn't want a dry-aged meat or an expensive Parmigiano-reggiano that I'm going to use for a specific dish sitting next to something off-the-shelf.
How did you learn to cook? As stupid as that sounds, I’m being serious. Been trying to get my mom to teach me but she thinks I’m useless. Fucked up boiling water, don’t ask me about it.
It's a lot of trial and error. Would highly recommend just creating a list of 5 basic recipes you want to learn (1 pasta, 1 meat, 1 fish, etc...) and then try going through them with a youtube tutorial. If you ever find that you don't know how to do the next step within a recipe ( for example: chopping onions or mincing herbs) , just google it or look up a youtube video.
Started by just following recipes of stuff I wanted to make.
Then I learned some basic cooking skills (how to chop different things, basic herbs and spice combinations, how to use knives properly, how different ingredients could be used, etc...).
Once you get the basics, then you can be a little creative - ie. Turns out dicing yams, beets, and carrots; glazing them in balsamic vinegar (particularly fig balsamic); and baking them in the oven is amazing.
Gordon Ramsay videos are pretty great at picking up cooking skills and understanding what kind of ingredients go well.
Haven't picked up Japanese cooking yet. It's so ingredient dependent so it might be a little difficult.
