In what ways do honesty and integrity matter in investment banking

Hi,

I feel that perhaps unfortunately, some people, within and outside of investment banking, assume that honesty and integrity doesn't matter in investment banking. I think it's kind of important whenever you're doing anything, to be honest, and have integrity. In what ways do honesty and integrity matter in investment banking? Hope this isn't a bad question.

Dude, no, it's not. I can probably say because within IB it matters in terms of giving clients a fair and ethical experience or something. Or I can say, it involves closely adhering to regulations, which is an ethical thing to do. But I know these are kind of bad answers, I'd probably get an A on the paper though.
