Bump - incoming AN1 looking to book a Thursday night - Monday morning trip in April. Roughly 8-9 months in

I’m at a bank in the South so take this with a grain of salt, but I’m planning on taking a day or two off next March/April/May for a wedding out of the country. Give a heads-up, just be courteous and aware of your situation. Shouldn’t receive much backlash unless your group head and associates are actually terrible

Standard, from what I've seen based on my friends and me in a mix of BB/MM/EB's, is that An1's typically take scattered days off to make multiple 4/5 weekends during the holiday season, OR do a mix of that and take a week off. Some banks have a mandatory minimum 5 days off by the EoY rule, so that 6 months or 1 year rule is simply wrong. For what it's worth, most people do take it in the winter/summer time, so either your first year winter or summer near the end of your first year, simply due to when there is and isn't flow.

Is it crazy to take a long weekend (friday off) sometime in November or October if I hit the desk in August (already started as an An 0)

I'd probably hold out till you get started to see what's on your desk. Taking a week vacation after around six months is usually acceptable in many teams as long as it's not during a hectic transaction period. Simply discuss it with your VP or staff as soon as you start so they are aware of it.
