Internships and Networking
Good afternoon
I'm fairly new to this forum and I have a few general questions but I could also use some suggestions/advice. Here's a quick background, I am currently attending a college in - and I'm looking into transferring to - School of Business next semester, since I'm supporting myself this is the best education I can get in state. I have done a bit of networking and I think I've snagged the interest of some analysts who are - Alumni at local boutique firms. To make a long story short my goal is to get the best possible internship for next summer. How hard should I push these guys to help me considering I'm not even technically a - student yet? Should I really just focus on Houston firms? How did you guys land your internships ? Will waiting till I'm enrolled in spring be a mistake? I'm also looking at joining an international fraternity for more connections, any suggestions on that topic? On a side note my goal is to do my junior year internship at a BB in NY any suggestions on what can do to start working towards that and setting myself apart?
Any help is appreciated
For freshman and sophomore internships, "cold-calling/emailing" is the way to go. Not 10s of people. 100s, from what I've read on these forums. Grind is real. And you've reached out already, so that's great.
Can you elaborate on what you mean by push?
