I'm fairly new to this forum and I have a few general questions but I could also use some suggestions/advice. Here's a quick background, I am currently attending a college in - and I'm looking into transferring to - School of Business next semester, since I'm supporting myself this is the best education I can get in state. I have done a bit of networking and I think I've snagged the interest of some analysts who are - Alumni at local boutique firms. To make a long story short my goal is to get the best possible internship for next summer. How hard should I push these guys to help me considering I'm not even technically a - student yet? Should I really just focus on Houston firms? How did you guys land your internships ? Will waiting till I'm enrolled in spring be a mistake? I'm also looking at joining an international fraternity for more connections, any suggestions on that topic? On a side note my goal is to do my junior year internship at a BB in NY any suggestions on what can do to start working towards that and setting myself apart? Any help is appreciated
For freshman and sophomore internships, "cold-calling/emailing" is the way to go. Not 10s of people. 100s, from what I've read on these forums. Grind is real. And you've reached out already, so that's great.
