Investing your savings at Market Highs?
I'm looking to set aside some cash for the next 3-5 years in equities and credit but completely scared shitless on where to put it with equities and rates being where they're at.
Looking to start a discussion to get some alternative opinions/views on whats likely the best approach & mix with a 3-5 year time horizon.
What's in 3-5 years?
I'm a big fan of dollar cost averaging. You can try to pile up cash and wait for a recession but that requires being able to time the market. There are a lot of people who have been sitting on cash for the past 5 years because "we're due for a recession" while the market continues to climb.
I’m thinking of buying some high yield bonds, maybe 3-5 year maturities. Then once they mature hopefully equities will have fallen so I’d buy a FTSE 100 tracker fund at that point
