This is more to catch the attention the mods if anything but is it possible to place an IP ban on a user? I, along with a lot of people, are definitely sick of the trolls that have been plaguing WSO for the past month and a half. I am 100% positive that there is one person that holds the accounts of my name is goldstein, MikeFromBaruch, ThatWholeYaleThing, etc. It's not like the person is a funny troll, no this is just someone with the intent to derail threads and give shitty advice to undergraduates that actually need help. Personally on one of my threads, I believe this person is the one who spammed me with monkey shit 14 times in a span of 3 minutes. How is that allowed to happen? This person has been making multiple profiles and posting in the off-topic section to increase his rank too. Just a pathetic non-target that keeps moaning about target students and shit like that (and I am a non-target).
Imo the mods on this site really need to get a grasp on this situation and either IP ban whomever it is or remove the profiles i mentioned above from this site.

also OP, I think goldstein and mikefrombaruch got banned. I went back to that thread to see if their old posts were there, they're all gone.
word of advice, if someone deserves a ban, just tag AndyLouis and he'll evaluate. the mods don't stay on the forums as much as the users do, so unless you hit "FLAG" or tag one of them, it may take a while for something to get done.
What makes you say ThatWholeYaleThing and Goldstein are the same person? Yale PMed me for some advice and has been super respectful, not looking for a hand out but more guidance.

I also think it lowers the quality of the site when those accounts post because they're not particularly funny. That being said, how do you deem whether an account that doesn't contribute real advice merits a ban or not? I think my posts are fairly amusing (been getting PMs about my potato puns hell ya), but do those really add value? I don't solely post off-topic content, but if I did would that be a bad thing? My question is what is deemed a worthwhile contribution? What is so low quality that it gets someone banned? Spam/multiple account abuse seems like a fair criterion, but shit posting does not if users are consistently validating these posts with silver bananas.

AndyLouis Why was my main account QGKZ banned? How is having 2k banana points and more banana points than MS a troll account? And it was the only account I used -- any other accounts were forgotten ones from 3+ years ago.

Fwiw, WSO caps monkey shit one person can throw at one user to 3 per day afaik, so it definitely looks like I'm getting tag-teamed. Ultimately the points don't matter, but having multiple accounts bombard my comment with childish drivel and monkey shit is annoying. I came here because I want good banter with other people in finance, not someone nitpicking my comment and substantiating the reply with six more non-material replies.
