Is Green Good?

What is the most appropriate color suit, tie, and shirt for LinkedIn pics? I am thinking either all black like Clooney or green suit and tie like Gosling. I don't look good in blue, and pinstripes seem to be one there way out if their time has not already past.

Burgundy would be better. It conveys a certain forgotten regality.

charcoal suit, light blue / cream shirt, navy tie, black shoes, watch optional

CONSERVATIVE

Generally speaking: Conservative=boring

I would wear midnight blue, but blue looks bad with my hair color and skin tone. I used to wear pinstripes, but that seems to be falling out of fashion. I like solid black suits with black ties, but most people here do not think that solid black is acceptable. This leaves me looking for an alternative to patterned black suits.

Dude, this is the simplest shit ever. And stop wearing pinstripes if you don't know what you're doing.

Solid Navy/Gray suit. White or light blue shirt. Solid or simply-patterned medium-width tie with a knot appropriate to the collar style in a non-retarded color. Tie bar & simple pocket square matching the shirt color & fabric if you want. Black cap toes. Black belt. Simple watch. Match your metals & leathers in texture & color. No synthetic fibers

Done

Conservative = boring because Corporate = drones. Do the norm' charcoal or blue suit with white shirt and a matching tie.

Green... that's disgusting.

@RustyFork Where did I say I was excluding myself? Everyone around me, including myself, are just drones day in and day out. There is no room for creativity and adventorous minds in the Corporate landscape. Guy on my team that works in a smaller office, everyone thinks he is a weirdo and not normal because he doesn't go along with the norms.

Take your pic depending on what style pic you're going for (greyscale, backdrop, posed, whatever)

The last photo taken of you is now your LNKD profile pic for a year.

That is not simple. No need for pocket squares; they have an unglamorous history. No need for watches; cells have built in clocks. Tie bars are for mad men. I do like cufflinks though; the presidential ones are the second best.

Doesn't wear watches, tie bars, or pocket squares. Wears cufflinks.

Come on OP, get with the program...

Sorry, I don't dress metro. I was thinking of asking about wearing a solid black suit, black shirt, and black tie. However, if I did the metro types would think that I was trolling.

Nobody ever spread comps in a green suit. Ever. Are you a pioneer? I don't think so.

Tan people look good in green suits, and I am tan. I'm tan enough to look significantly more Jewish than I actually am.

Tan people look good in green suits, and I am tan. I'm tan enough to look significantly more Jewish than I actually am.

I spent last summer in Israel and people thought I was a native. I'm Ukrainian actually, but I look like an Arab is what I'm getting at: perma-tan status. I would not wear a green suit. Like, anywhere. Regardless of what a color wheel says.

But, dude... go for it. It probably won't kill you and that's always the worst case scenario.

I just typed "worse case" instead of "worst case." It definitely wasn't a typo; the keys aren't adjacent. I've had a few drinks, but only a few. What does this say about my subconscious mind?

Or maybe it has something to do with the word "case" following "worst." ...

Note how Daniel Craig looks good in blue of all shades because he is pale and has light brown or dirty blond hair. He probably would not look good in green. However, Schwarzenegger looks very good in green and he is very tan and has dark hair.

Also note that Gosling has reddish hair in contrast to Craig who has dirty blond or light brown hair. Blond goes well with blue, but red and blue together are hard on the eyes.

I will stick with a color that matches my skin tone and hair/beard color. That means no blues. I also think that grey would not match well with my hair.

Dude, there are times when convention outweighs the color wheel. You'll look out of place as fuck in a green suit. Where the hell do you even find a green suit that isn't bespoke?

Whatever dude, go for it. Tape a color wheel to your back so people at least know why you did it.

Nothing wrong with monk straps. You know, options aside from black oxfords exist for those not going into first-year interviews. Men have been wearing suits and dress shoes for many years,
