Laptop recommendations?
Currently looking for a new laptop, very attracted to Mac's but cant seem to pull the trigger because of the lack of Excel features. Possible to look past this for someone in banking? If I were to use it for a hybrid work/personal. Any suggestions on other solid laptops for work that aren't 1200+?

I always buy my personal laptops from Best Buy to purchase their 2 year full coverage warranty. If I drop it in the bath water it is covered and I get a free new laptop.
Do you use your laptop in the bath a lot?
Yeah I do my best work in the bath with my computer.
HP EliteBook 840 G5 or G6, buy it used from eBay with a few scratches, et voilá, 30% off. I had really good experiences with the 8GB RAM version, but of course, try to go for the 16/512GB version if you can.
Think I'll need anything special for modeling work? I have a PC at home but my laptop just got stolen and not sure how powerful it needs to be.
I'd disagree, assuming you don't already have a tablet consider the Surface Pro. I'd get the cheapest 7 with a processor & ram that suit your needs and drop in a 1 TB microSD card. The 8 is better, but does away with that hack. I've got a 6, and love it, but would kill for a USB C port to charge from. (if so I could be 100% USB-C)
Edit: make sure you get a tablet with the type cover. It's needed. Also: a cheap adapter can get you set with a nice monitor and home mouse/keyboard combo
Dell XPS 4k
Second the Dell XPS models. Have a XPS 15 that's a few years old, but because it's overbuilt from the get, it's still more than adequate with newer stuff and has more than enough capability. I can even do some gaming on it too which is nice.
XPS 13 is quality--have had two of them
I got a $600 HP laptop from their website recently when they had a sale. I basically just picked a base 15inch laptop model (product number 2K3T2AV) and upgraded the important parts like ram, hard drive etc. I ended up with 16GB DDR4, 512gb SSD and the AMD Ryzen 5 5500U 6 core.
