Linkedin "Drop Emails" Posts: Legit or BS?

Hey everyone. Ive seen a dozen of posts on linkedin that are basically like drop your .edu email on the comments for us to email you this spreadsheet of internships. Anyone that's ended up dropping the email- is it legit or some sort of a scam to get ur private info?

It signs you up for a mailing list that sends out internships weekly or so. Wouldn’t really recommend unless you have contacts at those companies because thousands of people are applying for those jobs. It is good to see what kinds of roles are out there though

I have never done it because it is definitely a scam or a major data mining operation, but do they very follow through and send you the stuff, even?
