Modelling requirement ?

Hey guys this might be a stupid question but when a position such as an Equity research associate or a capital markets analyst position etc slists “proficiency in modeling” as a job requirement. What do they actually mean by that?

Which models? And how deep of knowledge are they expecting?

There are so many types of modelling and different levels of proficiency I’m having a hard time figuring out if i would fit the requirements.

Thanks in advance
