Morgan Stanley HR is braindead

Seriously, fuck this bank and specifically the dumb bimbos in HR. I go to a semi-target state school (kelley/penn state/uw madison) and have heard of multiple people over the last few years here getting rejection phone calls after final rounds some of them even crying as a result.

Someone please tell these stacy's in HR it is NOT common practice to phone call candidates to reject them, and specifically not to start the phone call off sounding happy with an "update"

Hello there, unc. Maybe in the Stone Age when you recruited for a job, they would call 10 applicants for 4 seats, and there was a likely chance you would walk out with a job. Today (the modern age), recruiters often bring 20 people for 2 seats. Understanding how competitive it is in this fucked job market, when you get a call and specifically hear a cheerful voice mentioning an “update,” you get excited knowing that it all might be over. You can finally relax. Until Stacy from hr cheerfully tells you that you are cooked, and that you basically jestermaxxed the entire interview. This is very disheartening when you tried your best. Hope this helps.

Saying shit like this is more embarrassing than crying because you didn't get a job

...but is it REPE?
