Two songs that I can always count on to cheer me up after a shitty day are "Gimme Shelter" by the Stones and "Naive Melody" by Talking Heads (cliche, I know). "Do it Again" by Steely Dan is another one that comes to mind. Not really sure if any of these qualify as 'most beautiful' but they do the trick for me time and time again.

I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

Going ConcernI guess I'll just start. Would probably go with "April Come She Will" by Simon & Garfunkel. Your turn.

(I'm straight btw, thanks for asking)

Too many great songs to choose from but now that you mentioned Simon & Garfunkel, I'd pick Bridge over Troubled Water. Such an uplifting song and perfectly suitable for so many occasions, whether comforting someone who is ill or a wedding reception.

Too late for second-guessing Too late to go back to sleep.

goblanVan Morrison - Tupelo Honey

Great call. Brown Eyed Girl always puts me in a great mood as well. Can't believe I overlooked that one

I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

cakepieIt's hard to choose a favorite among so many great tracks, but "The Greatest Love of All" is one of the best, most powerful songs ever written about self-preservation, dignity. Its universal message crosses all boundaries and instills one with the hope that it's not too late to better ourselves.
You own a Whitney Houston CD? More than one? Haha.

Way too many to list...

Anything from Bon Iver's "Bon Iver, Bon Iver" album Anything from Lana Del Rey's "Born to Die" album Stones - Wild Horses, Can't Always Get What You Want Dire Straits - Romeo & Juliet

If I had my itunes here I could keep going

For sake of not being particularly unique, I'll refrain from giving Moonlight Sonata as my answer (though for me, it is THE answer).

But on a personal level, Song to Say Goodbye by Placebo always gets me.

VoidTradingIf you're fans of the XX, check out Alt-J.

Depends on whether you are talking about "good-mood-songs" or genuinely beautiful songs. For the latter: Ludovico Einaudi - "Nuvole Bianche" and "Primavera" :)

Not exactly beautiful... but Dance w/ the Devil by Immortal Tech, anyone?

I'll co-sign that. The first verse in this song evokes a similar feeling. True story, based on his father.

Oh god %#$^@%^. That something I was sending to a libtard to get their panties in a bind. I meant to post this:

It is physically impossible to listen to this/watch this, and not be happy.
