Most Prestigious Communities in North America
Are you curious if you live in a top prestigious campus community- look no further!! Of course, this has some bias but I think its pretty good
For simplicity reasons, sticking to just North America. I may be missing some that are not on the coasts. (Nevermind, won’t be doing Caribbean cause it’s just clubs not communities… )
Maine- Kennebunkport, any one of those sick island chains/communities with the giant ass houses
Massachusetts- Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket
Connecticut- Greenwich/Westchester, Darien, Fairfield (is that in westchester?… I forget)
NY- Manhattan, Rye, manhasset, Southampton, East Hampton, Sagaponack, (could include Quogue, Shelter, west hamton, sag harbor)
NJ- Scarsdale, short hills
Carolinas- Hatteras (I think….)
Georgia- Augusta
Florida- west Palm Beach, fishers island, Johns Island, Boca Raton, parts of Miami (don’t lie to ur urself)
Texas- Highland Park
Wyoming- Jackson hole
Montana- big sky, Bozeman (only if second/third homes)
Colorado- vail, aspen, cherry hills
Washington state- Medina
North California- Napa (only if u have a vineyard) rAtherton, Hillsbourough, Palo Alto, Martas Camp and similar Tahoe places,
Southern cal- bel air, pacific palisades, Brentwood, Beverly Hills. Newport Beach (kinda…) Palm Springs
Hawaii- Anyone of those vacation communities on Oahu I think it is… , Lanai
Let me know what I’m missing… monkey shit incoming?…
Port Royal (Naples) Florida
I’m sure Chicago has some
The Virgin Islands (not a big clubbing area) interconnected with a yachting community of sorts
Saying Augusta for Georgia is a joke. Augusta national (golf course) is in a low income area surrounded by shitty neighborhoods.
This post is quite ridiculous
Could add Palos Verdes and Manhattan Beach to the SoCal list
Another OC community would be Laguna Beach, and then there’s even further south in SD of La Jolla, Coronado, Del Mar.
Pops grew up in manhattan beach. Can attest it’s upscale now but probably a weird pocket because it’s south LA
Laguna Beach > Newport Coast > Newport Beach > La Jolla > Laguna Niguel > Irvine
Rancho Santa Fe?
Agreed for both. Manhattan Beach, PV, and even redondo beach now are regularly $700+/sqft for housing.
Westlake is pretty high end in Texas as well.
South lake is nice too. There’s parts of the woodlands that are extremely nice and I imagine Austin has some very nice areas, not sure where tho.
Would've been one of the worst misses on the list if he didn't go w/ Highland Park
Don’t forget Bronxville; New York
This the top answer. Even if you have the money, the town will refuse to sell you a home if you are the wrong race or religion.
Are there prestigious communities around DC?
VA: McLean, Leesburg, Middleburg, Great Falls, Old Town Alexandria
DC: Georgetown, Kalorama, Palisades, basically anywhere in NW around American
MD: fuck MD (probably Potomac)
Leesburg, Middleburg, and Old Town Alexandria are all poor. McLean and Great Falls are the only valid ones. In Maryland, its Potomac and Bethesda. But yeah, fuck MD
Isn't Mclean basically a suburb of DC?
Some weird answers
MD: Potomac is where the richest of the rich live in the area from what I’ve seen. Old money, new money, etc.
DC Proper: Kalorama (Bezos, Clinton’s, congressmen, etc. have property here). Georgetown has too much variance to be considered a singular community
Admittedly idk about VA. Again, most of the old money and DC market leaders are all in Potomac
+Bethesda and Chevy Chase for MD
Lmao what in the midwestern state school is this shit.
Immediately caught my eye:
- Scarsdale New Jersey...
- Hamptons, ACK, MV are vacation communities, only rich wives live in the Hamptons year round, no one lives on the islands year round
- Fairfield is a county in CT, Westchester is a county in NY, Darien & Greenwich are towns in CT
- Augusta, GA is literally just the golf course
Cringe post by OP.
For MA, there are a lot of nice towns but for prestige I'd say: Weston, Wellesley, Brookline for Boston burbs with Hingham and Duxbury in south shore... maybe like Hamilton in north shore. The islands have a real middle class that I wouldn't call prestigious. Same goes for the cape.
The top Boston 'burb is Newton.
Ponte vedre, Florida
Gary, Indiana
Augusta GA lmao...might as well say Macon & Columbus as Preftigious as well.
Hit me with Buckhead/Ansley/Tuxedo Park, SW Georgia Plantation belt, Sea Island or Greensboro/Madison
Oconee/reynolds & a lot of big gentleman farms. Similar to the area around the Thomasville plantation belt
Buckhead was prestigious before the recent crime waves.
NJ - hunterdon/bergen/princeton area lol
The southern tip of Marin County, especially Belvedere and Tiburon, should probably be on the list for Northern Cal.
Thinking Kalorama (DC) and, Point Grey (Vancouver, BC) are worth mentioning as well.
Ill fix your Nyc area one
Ct: greenwich new canaan darien westport
Ny:
Westchester: bronxville rye scarsdale larchmont Chappaqua
Long island: Manhasset garden city cold spring harbor
Nj: summit short hills madison ridgewood saddle river
Montana: Yellowstone Club
Wisconsin: Lake Geneva
Illinois: Kenilworth
Utah: Deer Valley (inside the gated areas, not just the resort)
Yellowstone club is in big sky.
Deer Valley definitely. I'd even say Park City overall, but family used to have an apartment there and it was 10/10. Thought I was living like a queen there.
For Carolinas I'd also add Kiawah Island. Tons of people at my current company have houses there. Very private
Park city is the worst skiing in Utah. Especially deer Valley. Total gaper heaven. I can't accept the park city prices for skiing that sucks.
Alta, snowbird, Snowmass, even solitude and Brighton are waaaaay better.
Please do some for Nebraska, looking to move a couple towns over to a more prestigious Nebraska zip code.
There is no difference in Nebraska- corn is corn
PB not West Palm Beach.
.
.
this is incorrect the most prestigious community in north America is my group of friends i play xbox with
You forgot Hidden Hills in LA. The mansions there easily run for like 40 mil. And if you are going to mention Newport Beach, you should specifically call out Crystal Cove. That place is for the richest of the rich. I regularly see matte rolls royces enter the community gates
River Oaks is the Highland Park of Houston
You totally forgot Gary, Indiana and Flint, Michigan.
Add Berkshires for Mass.
Portland to Maine.
Newport?!
Add the plains/middleburg to DC/Nova. Could also add Chevy Chase
Charleston for the Carolinas (SC). Would also tentatively add Chapel Hill/Durham/Raleigh area. There are too many beaches in NC for one to count as a prestigious community, but Figure 8 is top
Add Avalon + Stone Harbor NJ.
meh mantoloking & spring lake > avalon
