Yes.
I have a couple VPs and MDs that live in New Jersey and Connecticut. Not uncommon at all- esp if they have kids.
As for the hour commute, I don't drive so cant really estimate how long their commutes would take but I cant imagine it would be under 30min given it takes almost that long just to Uber from Midtown to Fidi depending on traffic lol.
which is why there is a subway?
lots of MDs don't come into the office every day...and when they do its 11am-4pm...so the long commute is butressed by the fact that they only do it 2-3 days a week
yes it is
Very common
Yes it’s incredibly common especially if they have children. In fact, more common than living in NYC. Many also live in places like Riverdale, Brooklyn, or Queens (which are all still technically NYC with NYC taxes). Outside of that Nassau county, Westchester county, Fairfield county, parts of NJ are all fairly common areas of residence.
an alumni from our school who is an MD for S&T lives in central/southern jersey and commutes everyday to the office
lol she cant complain
Very common. Bergen County, NJ is usually the spot.
Grew up in BC, great area.
