Need an Anime to Watch

Hello weebs.

I need an anime to start watching. I have finished: Naruto, Shippuden, Death Note, Parasite, Chainsaw Man, Jujutsu Kaisen, AoT ( HYPED AF), Full metal alchemist brotherhood, Vinland saga, seven deadly sins (when it was good), tokyo ghoul, cowboy bebop, samurai champloo, HxH, sword art online, Jojo's (except latest season with Joline), Baki

Have watched partially but got bored: Fairy Tale, Seven deadly sins, One Piece (episode 540 something on Punk Hazard arc), Demon Slayer (half of first season), Black Clover (100 episodes)

What the f do I watch

Neon Genesis Evangelion, Akira, Berserk (old and newer), Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans., Deadman Wonderland.

Edit: the Rurouni Kenshin OVA movie is nuts too. The old school one, not the 2021 version. Ninja Scroll is another good one.

Evangelion then the movie right? Heard the anime ending was pretty shite and the movie is the true ending?

Watch them both. The ending to the series gets pretty philsoliphcal, but is worth it. Made me ponder a few thoughts. I'll just put it that way.

If going to watch Neon Genesis, I love the movie set they have on Prime.

Based on the ones you mentioned—86 is really good. I feel like you’d also enjoy Mushoku Tensei since you watched Sword Art Online (also an isekai, but def a lot more fleshed out than the stereotypical low-budget isekais)

Mob Psycho - One of the best shonen’s out there. Great action, music, spectacular ending, and all around great vibe. Really grow to love the main character

My hero academia - others have mentioned, but very mainstream action anime so surprised you haven’t watched it yet. Watch the first 2 episodes and you’ll know whether you’ll like it or not.

Psycho Pass - Great darker seinen anime which has good action, subcharacters, and plot. Villain is also great which is a plus. The MC was very annoying in the first episode, but after you get through that, you’ll be hooked.

The Promised Neverland - Mystery with good characters all around. Only 13 episodes so easy to bang out in a weekend

One Punch Man - Unbelievably mainstream - even Bill Burr’s seen this one. Great action sequences and funny

Grand Blue - If you have a absolutely stupid sense of humor like I do, you’ll love this show. Reminded me of freshman year where my friends and I do would the most out of pocket stuff but we always had a great time doing it

Haikyuu - Good sports anime. Makes you really care about 7+ characters which is hard to do. Animation is good, opening music is some of the best out there, and it gets you pretty emotionally invested.

I don’t watch much anime anymore - this is a culmination of stuff I’ve watched over the last 10 years (and I have more recommendations lol) but I’ve found a good strategy to finding good anime is going on myanimelist.com and looking for stuff that has decent popularity and above an 8 rating. Found a good number of hidden gems doing that (banana fish is one good show I found doing this)

Can't believe I forgot those two. OPM (no, not other people's money) is ridiculously fun. Glad it's finally getting a season three, even if it isn't until summer.

Ranking of Kings: It’s a pretty good shonen about a medieval prince who can’t talk. It’s a little more kid-friendly than I’d like but it might’ve just seemed like that because I watched it right after Evangelion. Only 23 episodes too so it’s a pretty quick watch.

I don't see DBZ on that list, so if you indeed haven't seen it, you should :)

Other than that: Bleach, Code Geass, Berserk S1, Arcana (though not really an anime, it kicks so much a$$), One Punch Man is hilarious and creative, Evangelion is awesome too but don't expect much closure our of it...

If you haven't watched Neon Genesis Evangelion, I highly recommend it, but you will need to pay attention, so put the phone down when watching. You'll notice the last few episodes of the main series are very, VERY different (I heard they couldn't show the ending they planned due to Nerve gas attacks in Tokyo around the time this was made, and due to budget cuts they had to remake the ending and animation was rough... it will make sense when you watch it). Make sure you watch them to the end, things get very heavy. Once you are done that, you will need to watch the movie "End of Evangelion", it is basically the studio remaking the last episodes, due to massive pressure from the fans, (the story isn't changed), but you will get a better perspective, and is just a better presentation of the ending.

Enjoy the greatest show ever made.

I...

Like I mentioned earlier in the thread, the last few eps of the series get seriously heavy on the philosophical side and are sheer mind benders. The whole discussion about what is true freedom for instance? Totally worth watching though. Will give your mind a thorough workout.

I know some people call it a vanilla anime but I really liked Rurouni Kenshin

The series is vanilla, but the OVA? Wooo boy...

One night my buddy and I were binging random anime while taking breaks to check out clips on sex việt—don’t ask why, just funny distractions. Ended up discovering a few hidden gems that way, stuff we’d never have picked normally.

Watched Dungeon Meshi/Delicious in Dungeon on Netflix and it was hilarious. Adventures survive dungeon clearing by eating monsters they defeat.

I'll give you a few recs based on your preference,

Action/casual watch: One Punch Man (Season 1), Trigun, Solo Leveling, Mashle, Spy x Family

Netflix Originals: Levius, Leviathan, Dorohedo, Dan Da Dan, Delicious in Dungeon

Storyline: Monster, Pluto, Erased, Apothacary Diaries, Full Metal Alchemist (the other one).

A few notes, Dorohedo and Dan Da Dan fall in the weird anime category; they're great, but... a bit weird.

FMA (non-brotherhood) has a completely different storyine than Brotherhood; I'm one of the few who likes it over Brotherhood.
