New York Travel Question
Hi, can someone familiar with New York tell me how I would best go about getting from an apt. in Bowery up to Stamford every day? What combination of trains, walking, sub would I need? Thanks for any insight.

You would want to hop on the 6 train at Spring then take that north towards the Bronx up to Grand Central Station (42nd St.) From there you get on the Metro North:

The above is a link to the schedule of trains, just select Grand Central and Stamford and the time you want to go.
Thanks, any estimate on time from door to door?
go to www.hopstop.com and click on New York, then change the destination to "Metro North Area" and scroll down until you find Stamford, it should give you pretty precise times based on the time of day you leave
Thank you for the help everyone. I looked and the earliest train leaves Grand Central to Stamford at 5:35. This still doesn't get me there by 6:30 allegedly. What are my other alternatives/ how do most people in S&T reverse commute?
That seems right, the commute is about an hour, driving is the only other option really and should take about 45 min....or live in Stamford...
