It's a great opportunity! Good job on going and make sure to pay attention to kids besides networking.
I would honestly try to be very positive during the event and talk to as many people as possible. Make sure to have a story and don't be afraid to ask questions. I can help you with stuff like what to wear since I participate in community service projects like your's all the time. PM me for more specific Qs about that if you need and I will be happy to assist you.
I have not made it there myself but I've been reading WSO for a hot minute now, and there are definitely guys here that can give you valuable tips.
Thanks bunches Aristocrat! I think the firm will give out t-shirts to wear during the event, but I was wondering what should I wear if I do succeed in meeting IB bankers and set a lunch or dinner appointment the next day per se? See midwest is a lot different and khaki pants with a collared t-shirt tucked in is perfect for such events (which I bet is not in NY)...
Also, do you have like specific scenarios on how to start a conversation with a young banker for example?
@"Aristokrat" probably knows this stuff better than I do, but just wanted to say congrats on lining up such a good opportunity. Way to go, hope you get some good results!
My suggestion is to be aware and observant of the people that are volunteering at the same event. I WOULD NOT recommend scatter-shot approach (Quantity) but focus on maybe 3-5 people(Quality, scale this figure accordingly to ensure that you do not compromise on the quality of the introduction) over the course of the entire day to speak to.
i'm not smart enough to do everything, but dumb enough to try anything

Be ironclad in your 30s elevator pitch. Be genuine. ALWAYS be smiling!
