NYC Apartment Hunt

Trying to find a 3 bed apartment in Murray Hill, Kips Bay, Gramercy, or EV. I need to find a place within the next 2-3 days because I won’t be back on the east coast until I start work. Is anyone moving out of a nice 3 bed apartment they can pass down? Thank you!

Based on the most helpful WSO content, Murray Hill, Kips Bay, and Gramercy are popular areas for young professionals, especially those working in Midtown offices. For a 3-bedroom apartment, you might find options in the range of $1.5k-$2.25k per person if you have roommates. Subletting or using platforms like AirBnB could also be viable options for a quick turnaround.

If you're in a time crunch, consider browsing platforms like StreetEasy and filtering for "no fee" apartments to save on broker fees. Additionally, reaching out to local Facebook housing groups or forums might help you find someone moving out of a 3-bedroom unit. Keep in mind that NYC's rental market moves quickly, so be prepared to act fast once you find a suitable option.

If I only had 3 days to find a NYC apartment I would literally schedule 5-6 places per day to see and decide. 8 places per day if possible. If you have to go sight unseen, maybe choose a luxury apt building.

Are there any places that are optimal for searching for apartments?

Most the listings I've seen on leasebreak seem to be really expensive

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.
