Incoming 2022 Analyst at a BB. What are the pros and cons of each neighborhood? Trying to meet lots of peope, expand my social circle, and try really good food. I've heard Murray Hill is good for college grads, but at times can feel like a bit of a 'bubble' or like a giant frat house. Hell's Kitchen I've heard has good food and bars, but apparently Covid killed a lot of the buzz. Less of the college crowd too. Thoughts? Are my assumptions wrong in any way? My office is in Midtown Manhattan.

Based on the two options, probably Murray Hill. A cheap cab to East Village or LES or subway down is convenient. I’ve never been a big fan of Hell’s Kitchen, but it seems the area does have some deals on places and some people choose just to live near their work building. Murray Hill is more neighborhoodish.
But, personally I’d pick the East or West Village. I lived in the East Village for years and had the time of my life in that area and Alphabet City.

Interesting. You'd recommend East / West Village even for a 21-year-old just out of college? I'm not really much of the tattoos/grunge/hipster type so I wasn't sure how I'd fit into the scene there.

Just toured apartments last weekend. Really depends on your price range, but you might be able to find better value for your money on the west side vs east side (ie. luxury building with appliances, updated finishes, all amenities)
