NYC Summer Housing Tips?

I will be in NYC this summer for an internship and am looking around for housing. My office will be in Midtown East and the internship is IB. I'm trying to weigh my options as the closer I'll be to the office, the more expensive the apartment will be, and vice versa. What are some websites or forums I should browse for apts and what are good neighborhoods for a young professional to be in?

If you're 21, the East Village is poppin. Murray Hill if you desire more quiet nights and shorter commute. I've used NYC Craigslist to rent/find roommates.

Almost everyone I know, myself included, is using NYU’s summer housing. Definitely not as nice as a real apartment but without a doubt the cheapest option and only like a 10-15 min commute to midtown
