Picking a double major
Hey all,
Due to some personal circumstances, it's looking like I am going to have to extend my graduation by at least a semester (4.5 years). I am currently a finance major (non-target) going into my junior year and shooting for IB. I feel like a good way to offset the extra semester on my resume is to add another major. I was thinking Economics as Finance & Econ typically go together, but was hoping to get some other opinions. Taking the CFA level 1 was also an option since I'll have another semester.
I did pretty much the same thing, and chose finance & economics double major after originally being a finance only major. Turns out, I've actually enjoyed my economics classes more. Looking back on my college career from the beginning of my last semester, I would have done MIS or accounting. Economics is a great way to learn the mindset of economies and have a framework to evaluate decisions, but provides no concrete skills from the undergrad level.
