Recent Amazon Commercials

Anyone else thinks it's strange how Amazon's new commercials are their workers trying to explain how great it is to work in their warehouses? And that it's not as bad as some say... When we actually know the true horror that goes on in them.

Like what other billion dollar company has a marketing campaign like that?

There is no point to this post, but I always found that odd.

Do you live under a rock? The conditions at the warehouses have been terrible for years. Google them and you'll know what I mean.

But yeah it's not like I feel bad that they are still making living wage during COVID. It's just comical that their commercials show how great it is to work there, when that's been factually denied.

Terrible by what measure?

Amazon in general is a very cut-throat company. Even the engineers, product managers, business analysts, etc work in what some people would consider "sub-human" conditions.

But people do get paid well, given career opportunities, and more.

Is Amazon violating basic human rights? Witholding pay? Using its market power to slash pay? People work at Amazon warehouses because other similar positions don't pay as well. In other words, people choose to work at Amazon instead of other places. In turn, Amazon expects everyone to work harder.

They made a sacrifice to work at Amazon. Amazon makes expectations very clear from the beginning: You'll have a tough time but we'll pay you better than anyone else.
