Recruiting as a Dwarf?

Random question: how do those who aren't technically disabled but have some impairment do in the interview process? For example: cross-eyed, horrendous teeth, dwarf, etc.

As a sales role long-term, I'd imagine it would be an immediate disqualification although it isn't kind to say.

I'd say 5'8ish is the lowest you can go before it starts to seriously impact your chances of getting an offer, given that IBD has (historically, and still is in select ivory towers like CVP/GRNHL/Rothschild or fratty shops like William Blair/Piper Sandler) is full of upper-class white men who average 6'2-6'3, same with your clients (F500 C-Suite). In fact, three-fifth of F500 CEOs are over 6'0 (https://www.ft.com/content/bb548d31-aa6b-4700-8c0c-3cc623b7376f).

If you're at 5'8, your eye level is at the shoulder of an average 6'2 banker from the likes of Deerfield/Exeter/Andover and significantly shorter than upper-class white women in heels (probably 6'0-6'1 in 3-4 inch heels).

Makes sense, why would shareholders hire small people, they’d make small time money

Related. I support a non-profit organization for students with disabilities and from what I've seen a prominent number aren't successful at one-way video interviews despite strong credentials. There is also well established research into people with disabilities and the literature is fairly unanimous, they have the poorest career outcomes across the board of any group.

I'm a dwarf recruiting for IB (O&G in Texas) right now and it's definitely a bit harder doing coffee chats in person (sometimes the nerves get to me as I'm worrying the other person is judging me) or even interviews since I'm assuming someone would rather hire a non-cripple versus a crippled kid like me

I've had some people not respond after meeting up with me in person, and on the flip-side I've had people help me out a lot too. You also get pitied a lot and treated as a baby

But after the first 2 minutes, the initial shock wears off and if you made a good starting impression then you can do well

Are you funny? Because if you can engage with that to endear yourself I could see that being a killer combo. Being memorable in a positive light is half the battle.

Mighty Mouse just took down a huge guy like 6’3” 250lbs in BJJ

SUPLEX. INTO. FLYING. ARMBAR. SUBMISSION. Mighty Mouse is probably the best pound for pound fighter in history... the definition of an exception to the rule. No point in anyone comparing themselves to that man, losing battle lol
