Return offers

Was wondering what return offer stats were like for summer analysts positions at GS. My division is in middle office. I was also wondering how many other analysts there would be in my group. Does anyone know how many SA's there are for each division typically? Let me know what your thoughts are.

I’m not in IB but I’m interning at a large firm for PWM and they told us the return rate varies but is around 40%.

I think each firm varies. I’ve heard some boutiques give 100% return offers whereas other places are around 40-50%. To be clear though I’d ask your interviewer next time what the return rate is

40% is EXTREMELY low for finance, unless the firm has no FT program that is a huge red flag. Almost everywhere on the street is like 85%+++ and you have to majorly mess up to not get a return offer (horrible attitude, constantly leaving early, clearly decided IB is not for them)

GS tends to be a little more cutthroat than others, but they don't have the same luxury in this environment - would expect 75%+ especially for a MO group. Perform well, work hard, show up early with a smile, and you'll be fine

I'm in PWM not IB so maybe it's different. I have to admit I was a little bummed when I heard the return rates, but we do have a very small class (I think less than 50 kids)
