Shaving

Do you shave against the grain? I usually do one pass with the grain, one pass sideways, and the a final pass against the grain. Hurts like hell at the end but makes my face feel smooth as a stone. Considering doing just one pass with the grain for efficiency reasons, thoughts?

Do 'em both, usually two passes on cheeks / chin / neck since I've been sporting the mustache for the last couple of months. Phillips OneBlade is a goldmine, cuts close as can be w/ no irritation. Throw on some moisturizer afterward, don't need anything else. Haven't bled or itched once!

Not a big fan of the electric razor. Can’t go wrong with the classic double edge.

I used regular razors for a long time but decided give an electric a try again.  I switched mainly due to getting a cut occasionally.   It works pretty well.  It does not get the difficult to reach areas as good as a regular razor but that might be because I am using a very inexpensive electric razor.   The cheap electric does just as good of a job on the noticeable areas compared to a razor.   Perhaps one day I will try the safety razors

When I covered the Defense sector, I sometimes had to meet with generals in the afternoon. One time I only shaved once in the morning and got sh!t for having an afternoon shadow. After that, I had to bring a razor into the office and shave up at lunch to avoid getting crap from the generals. 2x shaves per day. Yes, I am that burley. Currently, I have a massive beard.

Safety razor here. Once with the grain if I’m home but don’t want to feel like a disheveled bum. Twice, with and across when I know I’m only gonna be in the office for the day. Three times, with, across, and against when I want to look presentable. And however many times to get my face as smooth as a baby’s butt on date night; so it’s not prickly for the lady.

In my MBA class, some people would say that shaving against the grain every second day and with the grain on alternate days doesn’t just optimize your shave—it builds up protein on your chin, sculpting a stronger, more defined jawline. This process stimulates the skin, contributing to a thicker, more masculine appearance. Over time, this can give you that chiseled look, elevating you to analog giga chad status. It’s not just about looking smooth; it’s about enhancing your jawline naturally and effortlessly.
