Should I get a roommate in b school?
Should I get a roommate in B school and pay ~$2500 or live alone in a studio paying ~3000 or a 1B paying ~3400? This is on campus in Boston…can “afford” all of the above but want to be cost conscious as I’m not earning anything for two years
Based on the most helpful WSO content, getting a roommate during B-school can be a smart move, especially if you're aiming to be cost-conscious while not earning for two years. Here’s a breakdown to help you decide:
Roommate Option (~$2500/month):
Studio (~$3000/month) or 1B (~$3400/month):
Recommendation:
If you can comfortably afford all options but want to remain cost-conscious, the roommate option at $2500/month strikes a good balance. It allows you to save a significant amount while still living in a desirable area. Plus, the social aspect of having a roommate can enhance your B-school experience. However, if privacy and personal space are top priorities for you, the studio at $3000/month could be a reasonable middle ground.

I don't know if you want a roommate. Maybe call your BFF to discuss.
I say get a room mate just make sure they are in the same space as you, allows you to network and split the workload
I start B school this summer. I opted not to get a roommate. I have a 2BR with one BR being my office/study room.
The other rooms is where you store the hoeesss
