Side gigs

Givent the current market turmoil and the reasonable probability of a shitty year end of bonus, what are some side gigs that some of you do to generate cash free from market volatility?

I've been in the industry for a few years now, never considered having a side gig until now. Not sure what are the possibilities, want to gauge the kind of things people are doing...

Common paths I see:

  • Struggle to do well at HF...spend time creating courses to help people do well at HF
  • Be a PM at a top multimanager hedge fund, barely have time to yourself whilst also having a family, still manage to log 12 hours a week on WSO
  • Onlyfans
  • LinkedIn/Fintwit influencer, +$5 every time you mention "idio" or "crowding" in a post
  • AI startup

I have an art LLC on the side. I don't really create much art anymore I just have inventory to sell. I'm not interested in selling for cheap though, so it is very illiquid. But, the pieces make my apt look super baller.

if you're anywhere in finance you have an OBA ~a guy needed to disclose his horse farm

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.
