Songs to Motivate Yourself to Achieve Greatness
I've seen a few posts on banker songs, but none that really do the topic justice. This is dedicated in particular to those songs that inspire one to carpe diem, yell at a millennial for not understanding that bankers are the buttresses of the world economy, or generally reinforce the hustle and fast life in all forms while also having some shred of correlation to actually being in finance.
I will refrain from including anything on the dance/house side of things as although they may pump you up, they likely lack the lyrical backing or 'quotability' for this particular list, so we'll leave the Tiesto to the clubs (I would have probably thrown in selected tracks from Club Life: Vol 4 NYC if you were curious) Obviously there are going to be some songs i'll miss, but before you bark at me for doing so keep my criteria for selection in mind first.
In no particular order....
-This song might make you move to southern florida to become a drug king pin
Jordan Belfort- Wes Walker, Jordan Belfort
-Almost didn't include this because it's so overt, but it still gets you pumped up
-Rise and grind, an OG classic that reminds us apparently there are pablo noriega impersonators
Cake/ Paris Morton Music- Drake, Nothing Was The Same
-Anything that involves not only an expensive steak joint, but New York's own Il Mulino in the title and first line respectively deserve to be on this list
-"Money taught me spanish, make it andale"
The World Is Yours- Nas, Illmatic
-"I'm out for dead presidents to represent me"
-Just listen, you'll know why
I Get Money- 50 Cent, Curtis
there's not much to this song except for the title, but still
-It really does
Money, Cash, Hoes- Jay-Z, Vol. 2 Hard Knock Life
-Thats the motto
-Because those fucks at KPMG can deal with your damage costs
Pablo- Gucci Mane, Diary of a Trap God
-If you watch narcos, you know its a bankers thing to snort Pablo's product in an airport bathroom and then get punched in the face by a strung out DEA agent
-Gambling in Cuba and expressing a superiority complex over those who practice law is textbook
Dead Presidents II- JAY Z, Reasonable Doubt
-"I gross the most at the end of the fiscal year than these niggas could wish to"
So there it is, not comprehensive but if you don't already have a playlist I would say this isn't a bad place to start.
