Summer staying at home

Going to be interning at a BB in NYC this summer. My family currently lives in a suburb ~30 minute train ride to Grand Central. Was just wondering if it would be feasible to commute this way for the summer, since finding housing for 2 months tends to be really crappy. Thanks!

How far on the subway is the office from grand central?

I always say no to these bc it's usually too much of a commute with IB, but if it's truly 30 minutes door to door that is doable. Obviously a different story if you're at GS or C and you are tacking on another 30 min to get to the office from GC

Downside is you'd be missing out on a lot of the social atmosphere - no one wants to haul ass into the city on a Saturday just to grab drinks with your class. Also, will need a decent setup at your parents' house to work from

For sure, I definitely get that. I wouldn't consider doing this for FT, but just wanted to gauge how much the social scene/past midnight working hours applies to SA.
