The Most Powerful Movie(s) You have Seen

One of my favorite films centering on the ethics of war and torture is "Unthinkable." With Samuel L. Jackson. I think the key issue in the movie is the means doesn't justify the ends. I've seen this movie a lot and analyze the script and plot and really like it. What are the most powerful movies you have seen?

Another powerful movie I have not seen in a long time (since I was a kid) was "The Power of One." I distinctly remember this scene where the kid is curled up in the corner and people pissing on him. Unforgettable scene. I think the movie centered around overcoming adversity.

Also - "Chariots of Fire"

We're still around Christmas so Trading Places works, my answer for the other ten months is Das Boot. (in subtitled German) Tieffer nummer eins. Tieffer. It's tons of boredom followed by sheer terror. There is one Nazi on the boat, and everybody else is just trying to do their job and not die in a job where 1/3 of people didn't come home.

Spoiler alert, but Broken Lizard's "Beerfest" has like a dozen Das Boot references, including casting Jürgen Prochnow as the baron. (He was also in the 1984 version of Dune, and a popcorn favorite of mine: Judge Dread) It's not their best film (Liter of cola, Farva?) but it's up there.

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.
