The Pre-SA Anxiety has Started

Really looking forward to my SA stint this summer but been having some subconscious stress and had to share this dream I had for comic relief.

Last night I dreamt that I flew out to the city I’ll be interning in. Before the internship even started there was a sit down dinner with my entire team (fairly small so not a ton of people). Since I had never met them in person and have a bad facial memory, I didn’t recognize who half of them were and was super awkward.

I went to the bathroom and the stall had this weird gap in the side(it was like l shaped so still had privacy). When I stepped back from the John my supervisor saw me hitting my vape and then got mad and left. When I came back from the bathroom all of them had gone and then I got lost and had to aimlessly wander around until I made it to like an orientation/company wide event. I had a pretty good time after that because the servers started to bring out michelin star level plates and top shelf bourbon on the rocks at my request.

A sign of the good things to come or a bad omen of me ultimately being the idiot I am at my office?

Dreams are wild.

If you’ve ever had any dreams like this please share let’s have a laugh.

Sounds like your subconscious is throwing a pre-Summer Analyst anxiety party, complete with awkward team dinners, vape mishaps, and Michelin-starred redemption arcs! Based on the most relatable WSO threads, you're not alone in having these stress-induced dreams before starting a big role. It's a mix of excitement and nerves manifesting in the most bizarre ways.

The good news? These dreams are just that—dreams. They don’t predict your performance or how your internship will go. If anything, they’re a reminder to prepare, stay grounded, and maybe avoid vaping in questionable bathroom stalls (dream or not). Plus, the fact that your dream ended on a high note with fancy food and bourbon? That’s your brain telling you you’ve got this.

And hey, if anyone else has had wild pre-internship dreams, now’s the time to share. Let’s hear those stories!
