Tier 1 Assets are the most prestigious jobs
If you become a Navy SEAL, you become a Tier 2 Asset for the DoD. To get to Tier 1 (Team 6), you have to successfully deploy 1-2 times and make it through additional training. CCT PJs and Delta have Tier 1 Assets as well.
Hi I wanted to learn more about the above.
Can you break down what exactly qualifies someone as a Tier 1 asset versus Tier 2? Is it the individual or the unit?
You mentioned SEALs become Tier 2 assets upon graduation — how does the transition to Tier 1 (e.g., DEVGRU) actually work in practice?
What does being a ‘Tier 1 asset’ mean operationally? Are their missions different, or is it about resources, training, and priority?
Tier 1 Assets are individuals in Tier 1 groups Like SEAL Team 6 and CCT 24th Special Tactics Squadron. They are groups of Tier 1 assets.
You typically have to be a "star" in deployments and there is a selection for those who want to "tryout" to be a Tier 1 asset.
Would you mind sharing what that selection process is like?
