Totally random question

I work with a former military member who is ex- special forces. Really nice person and was thinking to myself if it would be crazy to ask if he’s ever k*lled anybody. A large part of me thinks it’s pretty inappropriate but I think they may be leaving soon anyways so was wondering. Feel like it may depend on the person but just a random thought as I sit here and procrastinate my work. Btw he’s not senior or anything. Wouldn’t judge him either just super curious. Would love to hear from any former military here as well on any funny stories if they’ve been asked about something like this before haha

If he's ex-special forces and it's not logistics related it's almost certain that he has. Most special forces don't have confirmed kills but if they weren't a recon or medic or intelligence gathering role then yeah. But certain branches dont even count confirmed kills. IMO it's not disrespectful to ask though. A guy who hasn't is just gonna say no. A guy who's actually special forces and is used to what the responsibility requires of him won't think anything of it and will realize it's probably crazy to a civilian, and may just be like yeah I did.
