Anyhow, I believe that Trump committed offenses that rise to the level of impeachment, so I have no problem with the vote for a formal inquiry today. Good news too for those who don't believe Trump has committed offenses that are impeachable, as the Republicans currently hold the majority in the Senate, so on purely political grounds, Trump most likely will be impeached but not removed from office.

That's more or less it. Impeachment is inherently a far more political process than a legal one, so whether or not you think Trump should be removed or not will come down, with few exceptions, to whether or not you are a fan of Trump. The last polling I saw showed a clear majority of people think Trump should be impeached but essentially a tie on whether he should be removed from office or not, which is about how it should be - more people want the process to move along and to see what actually happens, reserving judgment until after more facts come out.
