Volunteering in NYC - Do analysts have time?

Hey everyone,

I'm graduating in May and soon to be a 1st year analyst at a boutique bank in NYC. I was curious to know if other IB analysts/former analysts have had the opportunity to do any volunteering while working at the same time. I've been pretty active in volunteer work through HS/College and was hoping to continue doing so in the post-graduation.

Thank you in advance for the input

You can give half a day at a soup kitchen and get your hands dirty or push paper on the board of a nonprofit who desperately needs people with business/finance backgrounds.

NYC probably has the most volunteer opportunities of any city in the US.

Also, MBA adcoms love volunteering.
