WE HAVE A POPE!

White smoke is here! Where will he be from?

Brazil? Argentina? Italy? USA?!

Dennis Rodman is in the Vatican calling for a black Pope.

I just find this interesting to follow. Will they pick the guy most fit to lead the church or will they pick a guy from the biggest growth areas of the religion i.e. Brazil?

Who do you have in your "Sweet Sistine" bracket?

trazer985unusual betting patterns over the past 3 hours, I reckon it'll be the black dude.

Where are you following betting patterns now that Intrade has been taken down?

Does Nate Silver have a prediction?
I am permanently behind on PMs, it's not personal.

Great choice at Cardinal Bergoglio. He is a well respected, principaled conservative scholar with a science background (Chemistry) who is not afraid to speak up against the rogue regime of The Kirchners and who does not hesitate to denounce social justice/liberation theology (which is just code name for communism).

Incidentally Bergoglio, like many Argentinians, is of Italian descent and speaks the language fluently. So while his election does mark the first time a non-European is elected the pontiff, this also represents a return of the papacy to the Italians.

Too late for second-guessing Too late to go back to sleep.
